Setup, once
  1. Connect your email inbox10m
Sign into Silas and authorize it against the inbox you answer customer questions from.
  2. Point it at your documentation and past tickets20m
Add your help center URL and, if possible, export or link your last few months of resolved support threads so it has real examples to draft from.
  3. Write your drafting instructions15m
Paste the standing prompt below into the tool's instructions field and save it.
  4. Test on a real thread15m
Forward or wait for a live customer email, check the draft it produces, and adjust the instructions if the tone or content is off.
  5. Set your review habit10m
Decide a fixed time twice a day to check the draft queue, so nothing sits waiting for approval too long.
The standing prompt
You are drafting customer support replies for [PRODUCT_OR_COMPANY_NAME]. Use our help center and past resolved tickets as your source of truth. Match the tone of the customer's message: keep it warm but direct, no corporate filler. If the thread has prior messages, keep your answer consistent with what was already said and don't repeat information already given. If you are not confident the docs answer the question fully, or the customer seems frustrated or is asking about billing, refunds, or a bug, do not draft a full reply: write "NEEDS HUMAN REVIEW" at the top and explain what's uncertain. Always draft, never send.
Tools
SilasfreeThis is the core of the flow: it watches the inbox, pulls from docs and thread history to draft answers, holds context across back-and-forth, and sends from the person's own address once approved.

What it will not do

It will not know about a verbal promise you made to a customer on a call, or a one-off exception your manager approved last week unless it's written somewhere it can read. It will not decide when to bend policy for an angry customer. It will not catch a wrong answer if your help docs themselves are out of date.

Done when

For a normal support question, a draft is sitting in the queue within a few minutes of the email arriving, references the right doc or past ticket, and needs only a light edit before you send it.
